Wow what an amazing Frozen party for Savannah’s 3rd birthday. She loves frozen so it was only right we gave her a frozen party to remember with her family and friends and Elsa of course. Elsa played games with all the children, sang, danced and even had a jump on our bouncy castle. GB Elegant Events creative an eye catching frozen sweets/ deserts table with a variety of blue sweets and a frozen dome cake with everyone loved. We had freshly made hotdogs from our new commercial hot dog machine, and to end the party all the children had a go at our lucky dip were they all picked out a present.
Our Christmas mascot advent calendar special has been very popular this month. Our manned mascots have been dropping of advent calendars to lucky children in London. Our surprise visits included lots of cuddles, photos and a chocolate advent calendar. It was such a lovely and heart filling moment when front doors were opened and children’s faces lit up in excitement. Our most popular mascot this month were Marshal from Paw Patrol and Minnie and Mickey Mouse.
On the 15th September 2016 I had a great time at floristry school learning how to make quick wedding bouquet’s, wedding button hole’s and different flower centrepieces using fresh flowers. I also learnt how to fix broken stems in an emergency and how to maintain flowers so they stay fresh for longer. The course was very interesting and practical and we used a variety of flowers including red roses, salal leaf, leatherleaf, purple statice and gerbera.
Real or artificial flowers?
Now the question is, what are you going to use on your wedding day, fresh flowers or artificial flowers? Although fresh flowers smell lovely and look beautiful, so can artificial flowers these days. A significant number of brides are now using artificial flowers because they are sometimes more cost effective and there seems to be more DIY brides making their own flowers. Artifical wedding flowers are very lightweight, making bouquets much easier to handle and to transport. They don’t need watering and are much more durable. If you want real flowers and your on a budget then it’s a good idea to repurpose your ceremony flowers at the reception.
On 2nd July 2016 we had a stall at Balham’s nursery and children centre summer fair where we sold our freshly made popcorn and candy floss. They had a Pirates and Caribbean theme so it was a perfect excuse for me to have my face painted and to wear a pirate’s hat, as we focussed on our services provided. The weather was not in our favour that day so we proactively moved our machines to an agreed area indoors to ensure all children carried on having lots of fun throughout the event. The centre quickly picked up momentum again and throughout the event became a jubilant space with happy children and adults alike. .
On 19th July 2016 we assisted with a summer event at the Stephen Hawkings School in London’s borough of Tower Hamlets. This school is for children with special needs and is truly amazing in what it does. The majority of the children have profound and multiple learning difficulties and a significant number of the children have addition sensory and physical impairment. We were privileged to be part of this event and supplied a popcorn and a candy floss machine. We personally made the popcorn and candy floss in front of the children and they all had a chance to touch, smell and/or play with it. The children that had never tasted candy floss before was totally mesmerised and it was wonderful to see how happy the children were. All the staff showed their appreciation to us throughout the event and of course didn’t find it too difficult in the participation for sampling the popcorn and candy floss. At the end of the event, we provided party bags for the children and staff.
We had a lovely time decorating the venue for Savannah’s christening. We provided chair covers and sashes, table clothes and our beautiful backdrop accompanied by a pink balloon arch. We also provided cake stands and glass jars for the sweet/desert table. Something so simple yet the hall looked so beautiful. We organised a bouncy castle to keep the younger children amused. We also arranged a DJ for the teenagers and adults so they were able to ‘dance the evening away’.
